CHINNOR scored 13 tries as they kicked off pre-season with two victories at the Rams Festival.

The National League 1 side beat hosts Rams 31-19 and Bournemouth 48-7 in two 60-minute matches.

Against Rams, tries from Will Harries, Chris Elder, Craig Duncan, Jack Rouse and Dan George proved enough. Elder (2) and Caolan Ryan converting.

Chinnor were then too strong for Bournemouth, with Kieran Goss, Carl Kirwan, Joe Dancer and Casper White among the try scorers.

Meanwhile, Henley Hawks continued their National League 2 South preparations with a warm-up fixture at home to Rosslyn Park.

But a youthful side were beaten 61-0 by the National League 1 outfit.

Southern Counties North side Bicester faced Buckingham at home.

A combined first and second XV fixture, played over two 20-minute sessions, saw the visitors triumph 5-0.

Bicester were then beaten 14-0 in a 30-minute match involving only first team players.

Dan Walker should have reduced the deficit late on, but dropped the ball when attempting to touch down.

South West 1 East side Banbury were in action last Thursday, playing out an entertaining 26-26 draw at Rugby Lions.

Meanwhile, Oxford Harlequins face Aylesbury at home on Thursday (7) in their first friendly, before entertaining Witney on August 30.
