MATT Williams is calling on his Chinnor side to find consistency in National League 1.

The Thame-based club welcome winless Canterbury to Kingsey Road tomorrow after winning four and losing four of their opening eight games.

They sit ninth in the table, but are just seven points behind

second-placed Rosslyn Park and director of rugby Williams hopes Chinnor can turn a corner.

He said: “It’s been a frustrating start to the season, there’s no two ways about it.

“Every game we’ve lost, we could’ve won. We could be looking at a very different eight games, but we’re not – we’ve won four and lost four.

“The beauty of that is it takes the monkey off our back and allows us to move forward without the pressure of people talking about us.”

Henley Hawks head coach Luke Allen is ringing the changes for his side’s trip to Westcliff in National League 2 South.

Seven players come into the starting line-up, with Dave Hyde returning to the second row after injury and Brad Cook and Rory Mason coming in at prop.

Meanwhile, George Wood and Murray Bellis will start on the wings, while Connor Morrison and Xav Andre are the centre pairing.

There are two positional changes, with Sam Lunnon moving from the second row to No 8 and Reuben Norville at full back after starting last weekend’s 25-18 win over Old Albanians on the wing.

Oxford Harlequins entertain Stow-on-the-Wold under the lights in the preliminary round of the Oxfordshire Cup this evening (7.30).

Prop Ben Ralton starts in one of four changes for the hosts, with Stuart Macdonald getting the nod at flanker.

John Derrick is set to play scrum half, while James Showering comes in on the wing.
