CHINNOR Falcons held on to beat Oxford University Greyhounds 21-14 in their Oxfordshire Cup semi-final.
The National League 1 club’s second XV withstood several minutes of heavy pressure in the final stages at Iffley Road to book their place in April’s final against Oxford Harlequins.
Dean Collins went over in the 14th minute to put Falcons ahead, Sam Angel converting, before David Wilkinson cut the gap with two penalties.
Tom White and Seb Scott also crossed for Chinnor, Angel twice adding the extras, while another Wilkinson penalty made it 21-9 at the break.
Greyhounds started the second half the brightest and Gus Standen touched down.
Despite yellow cards for White and George Hope, the students were unable to level.
Meanwhile, former Oxford University fly half Tom Mitchell captains England against Spain, Wales and New Zealand at the HSBC Los Angeles Sevens this weekend.
