CHINNOR’S bid to retain the core of last season’s squad has continued with Oscar Heath and Tom Ranaboldo agreeing terms for next season.

Respectively a winger and a lock, it takes the number of re-signings at Kingsey Road this summer to eight.

Injuries have limited Heath to just 31 games across five seasons.

But when fit, he has made an impact, scoring 26 tries.

Heath said: “I love it here – this is where I want to be.

“It’s an exciting new chapter and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with a new bunch of lads.

“I’ve been impressed with (director of rugby) Richard Thorpe’s new set-up and the work being done to create a new culture – getting that right is massive.

“Thorpey is pretty keen on building a team that will be together for a few years and that will be great for the club.

“I’m excited to be a part of it and I’m looking forward to challenging for a place in the XV.”

Ranaboldo is also no stranger to the treatment room and has not featured for the National League 1 side since September 2018.

The junior doctor said: “Rugby is my hobby and I just love it.

“When I broke my leg a couple of years ago, I was ready to stop playing, but I have reassessed that – I just realised that I would miss the game and the environment.

“I’m delighted to stay involved.”
