OXFORD have announced a host of new appointments to their coaching team ahead of the new season.

Head coach Dominic Matthews has added Wayne Rushden to his staff as senior player manager.

Lucy McIntyre joins the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 2 North club as head physiotherapist, while Chris Betts becomes strength and conditioning coach.

Oxford also welcome back Tim Ward and Tom Wells to their set-up, with the latter taking his first senior coaching role.

Influential fly-half Matthews, who was appointed in April and is also the sports master at Magdalen College School, will continue to play.

The club are aiming for a turnaround in fortunes in 2020/21 after they finished bottom of last season’s BB&O Premier table under the Rugby Football Union’s (RFU) ‘best playing record formula’.

Oxford are provisionally set to begin the season at Aylesbury 2nd on September 26, although the return of competitive rugby is still unconfirmed.
