CHARLIE Lane was the star as Moreton A won 6-4 at home to Drayton A in Division 1 of the Didcot & District League, writes Owen Brazell.

Lane not only won all three of his singles, but also contributed to a doubles win.

Darren Jones’s maximum helped Marlborough A to a 6-4 victory over Letcombe A who had earlier lost their 100 per cent record in an 8-2 defeat to RAL A.

Drayton B continued their push at the top of Division 2 ahead of Upton with an 8-2 win over Sutton C, thanks to a maximum from Rob Hudson.Drayton B and Upton have now opened up clear water between themselves and the rest of the division.

In Division 3 Grove A are top of Division 3 after a 9-1 win over Drayton F.

There is a dogfight at the top of Division 4,with the top five teams separated by only three points.

Sandford A kept up the pressure on leaders Hanney with a 7-3 win over Moreton E thanks to a maximum from Monika Graham. Tina Hamilton’s maximum helped Grove B to a fighting 5-5 draw against Drayton G
