NATALIA Druett led an encouraging display by Abingdon Vale swimmers in the Oxfordshire & North Buckinghamshire County Championships.

The 15 year-old won six age-group medals and was first in the junior and second in the open championships for the 100m breaststroke.

She also finished second in the 200m breaststroke and 200m IM junior championships.

Lottie James, 15, won 11 age group medals (including six golds) and finished third in both the 50m and 100m backstroke junior championships.

Bethan Lillistone, 11, claimed four silver medals and a bronze, while reaching eight finals.

Joseph Bradshaw, 20, finished second in the 50m freestyle open championship and third in both the 50m and 100m butterfly races.

Sixty Vale swimmers competed in the Championships, securing 132 top places and seven club records.

Vale’s head coach Amanda Ford said: “This recent success is due to the hard work of our coaches, the support of our committee and our swimmers, and the commitment of our parent helpers.”
