Two restaurants in Oxfordshire have been handed a new food hygiene rating this week.

This week it has been revealed by the Food Standards Agency's website that two restaurants in the county have received a four-out-of-five rating following an unannounced visit from the council.

Vine Inn pub at 11 Abingdon Road, Cumnor, Oxford was given the high score after assessment on January 7.

Mrs Chew's Chinese Kitchen, a takeaway at 82 - 83 Pingle Drive, Bicester, Oxfordshire was also given the four star score after assessment on January 10.

It means that of the Vale of White Horse's 113 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 69 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

In Cherwell, out of the 93 takeaways with ratings, 52 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
