MUSIC echoed across Faringdon as the town came alive during its annual musical extravaganza.

Families gathered for the Follyfest event, which brought musicians and bands together from across the county and further afield from Friday-Sunday.

The festival’s two stages were set in Market Place and in The Old Crown Coaching Inn courtyard.

Singer and guitarist Ivy Rossiter, of band Luckless, came to the town as part of her UK and European solo tour, which started in May.

The New Zealand-native said: “It was lovely. We could not have asked for better weather.

“Everyone was really friendly. I think community festivals are really wonderful. They really bring people together.

“It’s a chance for me to be able to see a town that I would not otherwise get to see and meet people I would otherwise not get to meet.”

Youngsters donned their finest outfits during Saturday’s fancy dress parade, with many enjoying having their faces splashed with colourful face paint.

Visitors also enjoyed a country and craft market, along with an array of stalls including food and henna painting.

The three-day festival also featured mesmerising magic and an appearance from princesses Anna and Elsa, best known from Disney film Frozen.
