OXFORDSHIRE experienced freezing temperatures last night but they were not as low as initially forecast.
Temperatures fell to only -1.7C at Brize Norton and -1.5C at Benson.
The Met office had forecast temperatures of -5C for urban areas and about -8C for rural areas.
The temperatures recorded were overnight up to 6am this morning.

Cry wolf far too many times over the past fortnight.
The BBC reports clearly compete for news time, not accuracy.
Bring back Daniel Corbett from NZ would be one quick fix, but given the role that weather and forecast plays in terms of people's planning and business generally, I think we need an inquiry headed by John Kettley, Brian Cant and Dame Shirley Bassey.

The fact that the actual weather did not accurately match what was forecast by the Met Office. That is not news either.
