A LABOUR candidate in the South East consituency for the European Parliament elections in May has said the prospect of a referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU creates uncertainty for companies looking to invest in Oxfordshire.
Anneliese Dodds, from Oxford, was speaking after visiting the Siemens factory in Eynsham this week.
She said: “We need high-quality manufacturing jobs here in Oxfordshire and across the South East.
“We should be encouraging more of these kinds of jobs here. Instead, we are creating uncertainty, which is harmful to businesses like Siemens looking to make long-term, multi-billion-pound investment decisions.”
