Herald Series: Courier fraud suspect bailed again Courier fraud suspect bailed again

A MAN arrested in connection with a series of courier frauds in Oxfordshire has been rebailed by detectives.

The 62-year-old, from London, was arrested in connection with 18 crimes in the Thames Valley during November and December last year.

Courier fraud involves mainly elderly and vulnerable people receiving telephone calls from someone pretending to be the police or their bank and tricking them into giving personal banking information to a courier who arrives later at their home.

The details are then used fraudulently without the victim’s knowledge.

The man was bailed and ordered to report to police again on May 21.
