Conservative candidate Stephen Harrod won the by-election for the Chalgrove and Watlington county council seat on Thursday.
Mr Harrod received 871 votes, with Liberal Democrat Susan Cooper second with 629 votes. UKIP candidate Gavin Craig got 311 votes, while Labour’s Paul Collins polled 159 and Green Colin Tudge 116. The seat had been held by Conservative Caroline Newton, who stood down earlier this year.
