A HOUSING association tenant in Faringdon has had a four-year suspended possession order taken out against her after drugs-related offences last year.

The unnamed woman in Catkins Close, Faringdon, was convicted in 2015 along with her partner of possession with intent to supply drugs.

At the time she received a 12-month suspended prison sentence and a 12-month supervision order.

Now housing association GreenSquare has confirmed it has taken out the order from Oxford County Court, meaning she must keep to the terms of her tenancy agreement - by not using the property for illegal purposes - or face losing her home and going to prison.

Anna Kelly, tenancy enforcement manager at GreenSquare, said: "In cases like this where a serious breach of tenancy has occurred, we will not sit back and do nothing.

"We have a zero tolerance policy approach to any tenant involved in criminal activity, including drug dealing or allowing someone else to deal drugs from one of our properties.

"It is our duty and our responsibility to make sure that our properties are used in a lawful manner to ensure the safety of neighbours and others in the community."

Any residents experiencing problems with antisocial behaviour are asked to get in touch with the association by calling 01865 773000.
