UPDATE: Missing Shetland pony recovered from travellers' site by police
POLICE have been talking to travellers who have taken over a secondary school playing field in Abingdon.
Several officers have been speaking to the group at Larkmead School in Abingdon after residents raised concerns about the invasion.
Neighbours raised the alarm on Saturday morning after the group drove their caravans onto the playing fields off Faringdon Road.
Some have said the group are the same who moved onto a nature reserve in Wantage earlier this month and were asked to leave by the district council.
Thames Valley Police said that was a civil matter and they would not get involved, but this time the force has taken action.
Our reporter Chris Ord, who took these pictures, spoke to officers on the scene who said they were in talks with members of the community.
Larkmead School is run by Wantage-based Vale Academy Trust, which also runs King Alfred's Academy in Wantage.
