A NEW post box topper has appeared in Didcot to celebrate a 30th birthday.

Anonymous crocheter “Yarnsy” has decorated the box in Haydon Road with a mini-Medusa figure, a grey deer, and a purple birthday cake.

In a post left next to the creation, Yarnsy said: “As Merlin prepares to celebrate her 30th birthday, I’m reminded of how lovely, funny, strong and caring she can be.

“But don’t be fooled, if you cross her, she can turn you to stone with one look. Happy Birthday, Merlin.”

“Yarnsy”, who has chosen to say anonymous, also decorates the box in Broadway near the post office.

She has been crocheting for about 15 years and first created post box toppers in December last year.
