A PUB on the border of South Oxfordshire has been given a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Perch and Pike, in The Street in South Stoke, was recently awarded the rating from the Food Standards Agency.

It means that of South Oxfordshire's 277 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 144, a total of 52 per cent, have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The food hygiene rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority. The food hygiene rating is not a guide to food quality.

Five means hygiene standards are very good and zero is urgent improvement is required.
