A PUB in Benson is closing temporary for internal and external refurbishment work.

The Crown Inn closed yesterday (Monday, January 2) and will remain closed until Thursday, February 2 for the works as well as to give the team a ‘well-earned break’.

Announcing the closure on Facebook, the establishment said: “All of the letting rooms are getting a full refurbishment and we are also using this time to complete some essential maintenance work which is needed to help retain and restore the character of this great old Coaching Inn.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to The Crown Inn in February.

“We are excited to see the changes being made to the pub and we can’t wait to welcome you all back through our doors to experience our new offer - see you in February.”

To welcome people back into the pub, there will be a ‘Tasting Evening’ on Wednesday, February 1 where people can meet the team and check out the result of all the refurbishment work.

James Clarke, managing director of Hook Norton Brewery, said: “Whilst closing any pub is against our DNA, we see this work as necessary, and January gives us the best opportunity to help us revamp The Crown Inn, Benson, to once more offer a great environment for our customers.”
