The owners of a village store near Wallingford want to convert the building into a residential property due to rising business costs
Crowmarsh Stores is "unviable” as a business, according to planning agents Cadence Project Solutions on behalf of owners Mr Townsend and Mrs Inze.
The shop on The Street in Crowmarsh Gifford has been hit by “rising utility and product costs”, as well as “other maintenance and day-to-day running costs.”

An application has been submitted to see whether prior approval is needed by South Oxfordshire District Council to convert the shop into a house.
The shop sits within the confines of the owners house, and would simply “create additional living space” rather than a whole new house.
