Three establishments in the south of the county have been given either three or four-out-of-five in their latest food hygiene assessments.

Pablo Lounge, in Bury Street, Abingdon scored four, Broadways in Broadway, Didcot was handed a three and Al Forno, in Reading Road, Henley banked a score of four.  All three venues were inspected on January 10.

A score of three is categorised as “generally satisfactory” and four “good”.

Food hygiene inspections and grading are conducted by the Food Standards Agency, in conjunction with lower tier authorities (Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire District Councils) respectively.

In Vale of White Horse, 131 out of 190 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings (69 per cent) have ratings of five and none have a rating of zero.
