Delivering new council homes and increasing the amount of land protected for nature are two proposals put forward in the council plan for South Oxfordshire.
South Oxfordshire District Council is welcoming participation in a district-wide conversation about its new council plan.
The council is inviting all stakeholders, including residents, businesses, community groups, and other organisations, to voice their opinions on the initial ideas it has put forth for the plan which will run until 2028.
These suggestions are part of the council's broader objectives aimed at creating a fairer and more inclusive society in South Oxfordshire.
The proposed plan, called ‘The Way Ahead’, aims to ensure a thriving future for all residents and generate alternative ideas on best practices and policies going forward.

The online conversation is set to run until Tuesday, May 14.
Special provisions have been made for accessibility with alternative formats, catering to requirements such as large print, Braille, audio, email, Easy Read and alternative languages.

A drop-in event is scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at Didcot Civic Hall from 3.30pm - 5.30pm, where residents can learn more about the planning process.
Information will be available at a number of other locations, including at libraries, at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot and at the council offices in Abbey House, Abingdon.
The council has provided five key themes as part of their proposal.
These are action on climate change and nature recovery, inclusion, accessibility and accountability, thriving and healthy communities, homes and infrastructure that meet local need, and financial stability and innovative transformation.
Councillor David Rouane, South Oxfordshire District Council’s leader, said: "We are preparing a new plan to set our direction for the next four years and it’s very important to us that it reflects the priorities and aspirations of the communities we serve.
"We’re looking for local knowledge and insight to enrich the strategic framework in ‘The Way Ahead’."
He urged residents to participate in the conversation and offered gratitude to the 900 participants from the previous corporate plan consultation.
Once the four-week conversation wraps up, all feedback will contribute to a draft of the plan, set for release in autumn.
A recently completed six-week Joint Local Plan with Vale of White Horse District Council will supplement this new plan, bringing together strategies that address climate emergency, nature conservation, and residents' needs.
The final draft of the council plan will undergo a scrutiny process before being adopted by the full council in October.
