A NEW public toilet has been installed in Hales Meadow car park in Abingdon and will cost 10p to use.
The loo, which cost just over £54,000 to build, has been designed to fit in with the surrounding area.
Vale of White Horse District Council, which paid for the toilet, said the stone building looked traditional from the outside but contained a “modern unisex facility”, with “plenty of room” for easy use by people with disabilities.
The new building was designed and built by Healthmatic, which will also carry out maintenance.
In spring a new footpath will be laid from the toilet and car park area to the riverside, providing better access to the Thames Path.
Cabinet member for technical services Elaine Ware said: “The new toilet provides a much improved facility for people using the car park or walking on the southern side of the river.”
