VISITORS to Faringdon Folly Tower had a sneak preview of the views the public will enjoy when it reopens to the public this spring.
More than 45 people climbed 154 steps to the top of the tower at an open day on Sunday. They had the chance to see a light flashing the morse code for FT, the 100ft-tall tower’s initials.
Peter Wentworth, 72, a Friend of the Folly from Faringdon, pictured, said: “It was very cold.
“For those who came up it was a wonderfully clear night and they could see as far as the horizon.”
From April to October the tower will be open to visitors on the first and third Sunday of the month from 11am-5pm.
The tower is set in four acres of woodland.
