THE "biggest and best" provincial cacti and succulent extravaganza in the UK will return to Oxfordshire later this month.

The Oxford branch of the British Cactus and Succulent Society will hold its annual show this year on Saturday, July 23, in Grove.

Specialist growers will be invited to bring their finest plants with the chance to win a rosette from local judges.

Visitors, meanwhile, will be able to snap up plants to take home from specialist growers and cultivated by branch members.

Oxford branch spokesman David Greenaway said: "This competitive show will cover all varieties of succulent plants including cacti.

"The Oxford Branch show is acknowledged by exhibitors and judges to be the biggest and best provincial show of its kind in the UK.

"Prizes will be awarded by our show judges at about 3pm."

The show at the Old Mill Hall will run from 10.30am to 3.30pm, car parking is available at the hall and refreshments will be available.
