FARINGDON’S Rob Owen began the OCA League season with a magnificent century as he helped his side to a thumping 182-run win against Radley in Division 1.
Owen (104) helped the hosts to 248-7 in their 45 overs, before Radley were shot out for 66.
Young Andy Francis starred for East & West Hendred in their 62-run win at home to Oxenford.
Francis top-scored with 86 not out and Kashif Rashid hit 57 not out to help Hendred to 244-7.
Mark Baring then claimed 4-42 in Oxenford’s reply as they managed only 182-8.
In Division 2, Wantage fell to a 73-run defeat at Broughton & North Newington.
Stuart Walton (82) helped Broughton to 194-9, before James Morgan claimed 5-27 and Clark Berry 3-17 in Wantage’s 121 all out, Barry Martin top-scoring with 57.
Clifton Hampden lost by 93 runs at Westcott.
Tanveer Hussain top-scored with 49 in Westcott’s 191-7, then took 6-22 with the ball to help dismiss Clifton for just 98.
A fine all-round display from Billy Webb helped Wootton & Boars Hill to a three-wicket win against visitors Eynsham.
Webb took 6-39 in 11 overs as Eynsham were shot out for 127, before hitting 56 in Wootton’s 131-7.
Stanton Harcourt thrashed Watlington by nine wickets in Division 3.
Mark Taylor’s 71 helped Watlington to what appeared a competitive 197-9, but Joel Graham (87no) and Ben Lucas (73no) made light work of the target.
In Division 4, Lawrence Belcher’s 6-70 was in vain as Dorchester lost by 98 runs at Brill.
Bampton crushed Uffington by 114 runs thanks to Ady Brooksbank, who took 5-25.
Sunningwell ran out seven-wicket winners at home to Deddington, after Nathan Himpson took 4-13 to help to dismiss the visitors for 102.
In Division 8 South, youngster Dominic Whinfrey produced a scintillating all-round display as Sunningwell 2nd beat hosts Letcombe by 51 runs.
The 16-year-old dominated a century stand with his dad Pete as Sunningwell racked up 218, finishing with an outstanding 134.
Letcombe, returning to the league after a four-year hiatus, were all out for 167, Whinfrey junior taking 4-54.
Sam Biggs took 5-1 in 3.1 overs as Steventon beat hosts Watlington 2nd by 80 runs.
