Abingdon Utd 2 (Holden 28, Beechers 47)
Abingdon United must be fed up with the sight of Cirencester, having played them three times in eight days and still looking for their first win in the Zamaretto Southern league.
As in the FA Cup replay which thery won, the home side scored after five minutes of the Division 1 South & West game.
Keeper Jon Beames was exposed at a free-kick and Lee Stevens netted from five yards.
Abingdon equalised when a free-kick was controlled by James Faulkner. He fed Luke Holden, who cleverly beat the keeper from close in.
The match swung in Abingdon’s favour early in the the second half.
Faulkner’s blocked cross fell to Holden, who scuffed his shot, but to his relief, Billy Beechers fired in.
Cirencester pressed and it was no surprise that from a corner Lyndon Tomkins levelled with a bullet header.
The winning goal came when a corner was headed into a melee of players and Jody Bevan scrambled in.
