Three Abingdon Vale swimmers won the overall age group titles in the Oxfordshire & North Bucks Championships, in Aylesbury.

Harry Basterfield was the top 12-year boy, while Joseph Law took the ten-year award, while Nienke Lijzenga was top girl in the 11-year age group.

In all, Basterfield won six golds in the 200 IM, 100m & 200m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m IM and 50m butterfly, while Law claimed five in the 200m IM, 50m & 200 freestyle, 200m butterfly and 200m backstroke.

Lijzenga’s four golds came in the 200m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 200m IM and 200m breaststroke.

Other Vale swimmers to finish well up the rankings were Ollie Baboolal (4th in 13-year), Oliver Lovibond (5th in 10-year), Emma Peace (6th in 12-year) and Michael Fabes (7th 11 year). The club finished in fourth overall.

Other golds came from Oliver Lovibond (50m breaststroke) and Imogen West (200m butterfly).
