Eddie Herrity claimed two maximums as Didcot B clos-ed the gap at the top of Div-ision 1 in the Didcot & Dis- trict League, writes Geoff Cherrill.

Herrity starred as Didcot’s emphatic 9-1 victory over Moreton A was followed by a 6-4 win over Drayton B to put them within striking distance of leaders Drayton.

Moreton A salvaged some pride with an 8-2 victory over RAL B with Joe Cheong recording a treble.

Division 2 leaders Didcot D were held to a 5-5 draw by Howbery A, despite James Lovelock maintaining his unbeaten record.

Second-placed RAL C were unable to take advantage as they were held by Drayton D even with the impressive Bill Mason recording three wins.

Abingdon E eased past RAL D 7-3 as they head for the Division 3 crown.

John Tremayne was on form for Abingdon D as his three wins helped secure an 8-2 success over Didcot E.

Wallingford held on to top spot in Division 4 with another David Quinn inspired 8-2 win, this time over Abingdon H.

Upton B remain in control of Division victory over Moreton F and an 8-2 success over Abingdon I.

Robert Lott and Richard Brown remain at the top of the rankings, having both hit two maximums for Upton.
