Wallingford RC won two medals at the Nat-ional Junior Sculling Head of the River race at Dorney Lake.
Pride of place went to the J14 girls of Lianne Reeves, Maisie Stillwell-Garrett, Gem-ma Henderson, Hannah Whelan and cox Alice Walker, who took a silver, after finishing just a second behind gold medallists Headington Scho-ol.
Wallingford’s J17 boys coxless quad of Tom Ajose, Jack Whelan, Jamie Axon, Ed Hares took bronze.
Meanwhile, Athol Hunder-mark, in his second year as Abingdon School’s coach, saw his first eight finish second overall behind Eton in the Schools Head.
Although 25 seconds adrift at the finish, Abingdon push-ed Eton hard to Hammer-smith.
Abingdon’s second eight were 17th, while Radley's first eight finished eighth.
