CRICKET: Vale still winless

Bottom club Abingdon Vale 2nd are still winless in Division 5 after crashing to a 24-run defeat at home to Bledlow Ridge 2nd.
Veteran seamer Robin Newman took 3-53 to restrict Ridge to 173-6, Richard Dryden making 70.
Chris Butcher then hit 53 and Charles Pickford 43, but Matt Dakin (4-44) and Dryden (3-42) ensured Vale were all out for 149.

Neither Bicester & North Oxford 2nd nor Chearsley could force a win in a rain- reduced 65-over clash.
Bicester were 6-3 before Gary Sansome (35) and then Richard Simpson (64) took them to 144-9.
Chearsley struggled against Kishan Dave (4-29), reaching 84-7.

Great & Little Tew 2nd declared on 229-6 at Wallingford thanks to Curtley Slatter (57), Dave Freeman (54) and Rob Hood (55no).
Ali Damirchi took 3-40 for the hosts, who reached 125-4 with Lee Ainsworth (60no) and Will Emmett (32no) impressing.
