The Critchley’s UTV League Div-ision 3 pacesetters proved far too strong for their Division 1 visitor, whose solitary effort came from the prolific Marvin Martin.

Rob Appleton scored the decisive goal despite Ricky Fallon’s red card after 25 minutes for a late challenge.

Village Inn’s tie at Dog & Gun was abandoned after 51 minutes with the score 4-4 after Neil Pitson dislocated his knee.

The visitors were 4-1 down at half-time but pulled themselves level within six minutes of the restart.

Max Palmer netted a hat-trick and David Murphy also got in on the scoring act before Pitson’s injury forced a premature end to the clash.

A Steve Gair brace and goals from Robbie Wood and George Cottrell gave Watlington Town a 4-2 victory over Henley YMCA. AFC Valley were on the receiving end of a hat-trick from Ian Warner who led Railway Wheatley to a 5-0 victory in Division 1 of the Critchley UTV League.

Aaron Leyburne and Sean Lintott also notched for the home side as they moved up to second.

Rutherford made their numerical advantage count to beat Tree Grove 5-1, with a number of absences leaving the hosts with just ten men and the visitors with only eight.

Ian Williams scored twice and Liam Power, Samuel Adekanye and Ady Arnold were also on the mark for Rutherford, while Josh Cottreil scored the consolation. Martin Dawson bagged a hat-trick as Green Tree Wallingford beat Abingdon Exiles 6-0 in Division 2, with Chris Swales, Jack Eccles and Max Mohan Triogles also netting for the league leaders.

White Horse Abingdon went down 3-2 to an inspired Black Swan outfit thanks to goals from James Foster, Nathan Carter and Dave Carter.

Josh Hackett and Ashley Brown scored White Horse’s consolation efforts.
