The hosts took the lead just before half-time when Paul Vines netted.

After new signing Mark Francis went close, Janes levelled after being played in Josh Dutton-Black, to earn a home replay last night.

The winners face a trip away to Northwood or Harrow Borough in the next round on Saturday, September 26.

Wantage Town completed a double with a 3-1 win over basement club Bashley in Division 1 South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League on Saturday, but could not match last month’s 9-0 thrashing.

Daniel Barry’s side had to wait until the 23rd minute for the first goal.

Bashley’s defence failed to clear Jake Johns’s free-kick and Stephen Davis poked home the rebound.

Five minutes into the second half, Ben Whitehead doubled the lead with a clever chip, and he made it 3-0 after 65 minutes after good work from substitute Piers McGlyn.

Carl Foster replied ten minutes from time.

Wantage have secured a deal that will see Croudace Homes sponsor their first-team training tops.
