Josh Witts sealed Didcot’s place in the first round of the Oxfordshire Shield with the last kick of the match in a dramatic 12-11 win over Alchester.
The BB&O Championship side matched their visitors from the league above in a scoreless first half.
An Adam Thompson penalty gave Alchester a 3-0 lead, before Didcot replied through Craig Phillips’ unconverted try.
Alchester made it 11-5 when Mario da Silva crossed and Thompson slotted a penalty.
But another catch and drive led to Didcot captain Ronnie Booth going over.
Witts then held his nerve to convert from out wide.
