AMANDA Ford has been appointed Abingdon Vale’s new head coach.
Ford, who has been a member of the club’s coaching team for the past six years, has played a vital role in developing swimmers’ technical skills.
A Level 2 coach and Level 3 personal trainer, Ford also delivers the strength and conditioning training for the England Talent Level 1 Programme, both regionally and nationally.
Vale’s co-chair, Julia James, said: “We are thrilled that Amanda has agreed to become our new head coach.
“We are looking forward to working with her during the next exciting phase of Abingdon Vale’s development.”
Ford’s first priority will be to review the coaching provision across the club to help ensure the needs of all squads are met.
James added: “Our objective is to create long-term development, whether a swimmer wants to participate or become a performance swimmer.”
