BEN Richardson won a gold medal at the British Karate Federation Home Nations Championship.
The head coach at Can Do Martial Arts in Abingdon was representing JKS England Karate in the individual and team kumite.
Richardson, who also won a bronze medal during the event in Sheffield, was thrilled to see other members of his club performing.
He said: “It was inspiring to see so many of our students competing with such passion and commitment, especially considering how recently some had only just begun learning karate.
“To win gold really was a bonus. I hope it’s just the first of many for the academy.”
