OKAN Onay, pictured, landed gold at the European Triathle Championships in Portugal.
The White Horse Harriers member competed in the junior men’s event, battling through the searing heat in Setubal.
The event involves shooting a laser pistol to hit five targets at a 10m distance, a 50m swim and 800m run, with the process repeated four times.
Onay is coached at Harriers, as well as Wantage Target Shooting Club and Didcot Barramundi Swimming Club.
His next event is the World Championships in Viveiro, Spain, in September, where his sister Eda will also be competing, along with another Oxfordshire athlete Lizzie Ryan.
