MICK Channon may have been out of luck with Dan’s Dream in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, but the winners have continued to flow from his West Ilsley stables.

The three-year-old, whose owners include Sir Ian Botham and Sir Gareth Edwards, was supplemented into the fillies’ Classic at a cost of £30,000 after winning the Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury last month.

However, there was to be no fairytale ending for the filly, whose prize money goes to the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, as she finished tenth with 66-1 shot Billesdon Brook springing a massive surprise.

Tarrzan’s trip up to Redcar from Channon’s yard proved worthwhile with victory in a five-furlong selling stakes.

Channon also sent out Big Boots to make a winning debut at Bath.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s Blewbury string hit form with four winners in five days.

Caiya made it two wins from as many starts with a neck victory in a mile novice stakes at Windsor, in the hands of Charlie Bishop.

Last Enchantment then got off the mark with a cosy length success at Nottingham in the hands of Ed Greatrex.

Johnson Houghton and Greatrex combined again when Tin Hat opened his account by justifying 1-4 favouritism over an extended five furlongs at Brighton.

And the Blewbury handler rounded off the week by sending out Statuario to win a Chepstow.
