There was plenty of success for Oxfordshire rowers at the British Masters Championships at Nottingham.

Sarah Marshall and Clare Doubleday, of Abingdon RC, won a gold medal in the intermediate 2 coxed pairs.

Clubmate Karen Roberts was pipped for the gold in the intermediate 3C single sculls, having to settle for second.

Abingdon’s Andrew Troup, Tim Baker, Mark Lewis and Paul Godsafe also won silver in the vets D coxed fours, with Godsafe getting a bronze in his singles D1 race.

Wallingford claimed four golds, three silvers and one bronze.

Gold medals came from Ted Garlick and Ken Houston in the G/H coxed pairs, and from Sean Morris and Colin Cusack in the G/H coxless pairs category. They later took the coxless masters F2.

Wallingford’s B eight of Sharon O’Loughlin, Julia Wilks, Emily Booker, Becky Waller, Anna Storrs, Sally Axon, Lizzie Ingram, Caroline Benham and cox Lamorna Newcombe took gold by 0.8secs.

The club’s men’s E4 coxed four claimed silver.

The Mixed D/E coxed eight also won silver, as did their women’s C pairs.
