JOHN Campbell has left Oxford United on loan to join Torquay United until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old striker joined from Jarrow Roofing in November, but has made just three appearances for the first team, scoring once.
There has since been confusion over his status, with the deal looking like it was coming to an end last month.
It appeared United were due to pay a fee if they wanted to keep Campbell beyond January, but the club now say the deadline is this summer.
He joins a Torquay United side 14th in the Vanarama Conference and could make his debut in the FA Trophy semi-final first leg at Wrexham this weekend.
The Gulls' board are being advised by former U's chairman Kelvin Thomas.
