THE WORST road for parking in Wallingford is Wood Street.

Oxfordshire County Council’s Parking Enforcement has issued 153 penalty charge notices in the last three months and most of them were for vehicles parked in Wood Street.

The road runs up the east side of Market Place and has yellow lines on both sides down the whole road.

Enforcement officers visited the town 652 times in the last three months totalling 36.5 hours from Wednesday, February 16 to Tuesday, May 17.

A total of 96 vehicles drove away when a charge was arising and 366 vehicles were logged overall.

An enforcement contractor provided the town council with the latest statistics labelling Wood Street as the “worse area”.
