ONE solitary second saw Elisa Longo Borghini win The Women’s Tour 2022 after it swept across Oxfordshire this weekend (11).

The final 142.9km-stage of the six-stage race, started in Chipping Norton at 11am on Saturday (11) and finished in St Giles in Oxford.

It started at 11am in Chipping Nortion and then passed through Cherwell and West Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse.

The tour entered South Oxfordshire along Didcot Road where the riders raced through the streets of Didcot from around 1.50pm.

They then entered Wallingford at about 2pm followed by Crowmarsh Gifford, Benson, Shillingford, Dorchester, Berinsfield and Clifton Hampden.

The final sprint took place in Burcot at about 2.25pm before passing through Culham towards St Giles.
