A MURDER mystery event inspired by novelist Agatha Christie is taking place this summer.

The event begins on Friday at the museum off the High Street, Wallingford at 7.30pm with a “Who Dunnit” challenge.

People will learn all about the mystery writer who famously lived in Winterbrook until her death in 1976.

Saturday’s event includes a guided walk along the Agatha Christie Trail, starting at Wallingford Museum at 10am and finishing at Cholsey’s St. Mary’s Church, where Agatha Christie and her husband, Max Mallowan, are buried.

In the evening, a murder mystery dinner event is planned at Cholsey Great Hall, off the Fair Mile, where people are invited to a three-course dinner by The Little Artichoke catering company.

The invitation reads: “You are cordially invited to the impending Wedding of Lady Mary Campbell to her betrothed, Jamie Lamont.

“The Father of the Bride requires you to bear witness…and keep the naughty groom in check, strictly no fighting. Everyone’s a suspect – can you solve the case?”

On Sunday, there’s a guided walk around Wallingford, taking in some of the town’s historic sites and buildings, as well as its Agatha Christie and Midsummer Murders connections.
