EMERGENCY services attended a crash in Faringdon yesterday involving a double-decker bus and a van.

One fire engine from Faringdon, one from Swindon and one “rescue tender” from Kidlington attended the incident at 10.25am yesterday (September 14) on the A420 near Chowle Farm.

Crews used rescue equipment and provided “immediate medical care”. The two vehicles involved were also made safe.

Thames Valley Police also attended and the road between Great Coxwell and Longcut was closed in both directions for several hours.

Emergency services finally left the scene at 12.22pm.  

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service said: “It was a road traffic collision involving a double-decker bus and a van.

“The cause of the collision remains under investigation.”
