A CHARITY shop in Didcot has found a new premise for the second time after being told to leave by the landlord.

Changing Lives, at the bottom of Broadway, has to vacate at the end of month after 10 years due to asbestos in the building and structural issues with the roof.

The charity provides relief for those in need by making grants and donations to individuals and organisations through the profits earned in the shop.

Customers and shop founder Valerie Prior were devastated with the news and immediately started looking for other properties in the town to rent that were affordable and large.

Last month, a new building only four doors down was found but the move fell through a week later.

A peaceful protest was then held outside the store as a final push to find a new building which has this week been successful.

Chloe Prior, who works at the store, announced: “So with just 20 days left at our current Didcot shop, we have finally found a new shop so you haven’t seen the last of us yet.

“Thank you for all your continued love and support. Also thank you to those who went the extra to help us find somewhere.”

The new premise will be in the High Street near the Citizens Advice office.
