SEVERAL festive crotchet pieces have been put on top of letter boxes across South Oxfordshire in time for Christmas.

Anonymous crocheters in Abingdon, Didcot, and Wallingford have put together Christmas themed toppers to help decorate the towns in time for the big day.

In Abingdon Market Place, the letter box topper features a mini-Santa Claus, a decorated Christmas tree, a reindeer and some holly.

The topper in Broadway, Didcot, made by anonymous crocheter Yarnsy, features a larger Santa Claus holding a sack of presents next to a miniature train.

Wallingford’s topper, on a letter box in Wantage Road, features three glittery robins sitting on a bed of snow.

Other letterbox toppers with festive themes are continuing to pop up across the county to get resident’s in the Christmas mood.
