ROAD signs installed at a brand-new housing estate in Abingdon have been spelled wrong eagle-eyed residents have noticed.
A spelling mistake was spotted on the new signs which have been put up at David Wilson Homes’ new Abbey Field estate off Dunmore Road.
The signs read: ‘Baileys Crescent’ and ‘Bailey Crescent’.

The correct spelling, as present on David Wilson Homes’ website, is ‘Bailey Crescent’.
Councillor Nathan Ley, who represents Abingdon North on Oxfordshire County Council, posted on Facebook: “I can confirm that the police have been called in to inspect David Wilson Homes and their work across the road…that’s right, the ‘Spelling Police’.”
The first bricks were laid on the estate in February last year with the first 226 homes ready to move into by the March.
