Sir, I absolutely agree with G Rogers’s letter (‘Home, Barnaby’ December 18) and I also avoid pubs with canine guests.
In this week’s Peacocke’s Pubs, half of the article was taken up writing about a dog and a horse, neither of which were on the pub’s menu I hasten to add.
The food was described as “good as any festive meal that I have cooked myself”. Not having tasted Ms Peacocke’s cooking, I am not too sure about this recommendation. Having a drink with four friends, the subject came up and two others held the same opinion as myself.
The Herald may take credit that in this limited survey, following the limited statistics which cosmetic advertising show on TV, three out of four people buy the Herald and read the letters!
