Sir, I am wholeheartedly behind the Hanney residents trying to save The Plough in West Hanney, a lovely, very old thatched building and the last of four pubs in the villages.
However, I was surprised to read in last week’s Herald that “we don’t even have a shop in the village”. Hanney Community Shop and Post Office is now in its 28th year, managed and run by volunteers from both East and West Hanney, who I imagine are as upset as I am to find that a Hanney resident does not know that we exist, particularly as we are attached to the War Memorial Hall with a sign on the wall.
I have displayed a poster about The Plough meeting in the shop and hope that it is well attended and something can do done to save it.
