Sir, I recently attended a meeting at the Didcot’s Cornerstone arts centre where we were given what was the suggested plan for the development of the Didcot Gateway site.
No mention of the inconvenience to the present residents.
No good reason given for moving the Lydalls Nursery, when in the last couple of years a lot of taxpayers’ monies have been spent on its improvement.
As for widening Lydalls Road, this would cause residents major inconvenience, as would closing the junction of Lydalls Road and Station Road.
There was no guarantee that the present residents would get parking places.
The height of the hotel or flats would mean that we would be overlooked. They would also get guaranteed parking.
The walkways through from hotel and flats to the town could cause a lot of problems of litter and noise for those who live near the walkways. Who will maintain them?
The same applies to the so-called open spaces.
